  • |Die-sinking EDM with linear motors

Featuring Sodick technologies, the AP series is designed to achieve the highest precision in EDM applications.

The design and technological features make the AP series the ideal machine for micro machining.

The new SUPER SVC circuit is dedicated to the machining of small parts where extreme finishing capabilities, low electrode wear and high machining speed are required.

The Sodick AP30L is a die-sinking EDM machine dedicated to working small parts that call for extreme surface finishes and dimensional tolerances. Linear motors on the X, Y and Z axes, with absolute optical scales and a ten-year guarantee on positioning accuracy, do away with ball screws and with them reversal backlash and wear. Travels are 300 x 250 x 200 mm on a 500 x 350 mm ceramic table, with workpieces up to 200 kg and electrodes up to 5 kg; the work tank measures 710 x 540 x 330 mm and the oil dielectric tank holds 195 litres, with replaceable paper filters. The generator carries the low-wear SGF4 discharge unit, the TMM4 and BSN4 finishing circuits and the Sodick SP control with a 19-inch colour TFT screen, LN Professional AI programming and the IntelligentQ3Vic CAM. The machine weighs 3,770 kg and draws 7.0 kVA on a three-phase supply.
