The SV series sliding headstock lathe with computerized numerical control integrates the traditional features of a Swiss-Type lathe with STAR state-of-the-art technology; therefore, simultaneous front/back machining of turning, drilling, tapping and milling and machining with three contact tools is possible.
The Star SV series brings together sliding-headstock (Swiss-type) automatic lathes for precision bar turning. On the reference model SV-20R the machining diameter is ø20 mm with a 205 mm headstock stroke, while the main spindle reaches 10,000 rpm at 3.7 kW continuous (5.5 kW peak). The machine is available in Gang type or Turret type, with a tool spindle up to 8,000 rpm (Gang) or 5,750 rpm (Turret). The sub-spindle works up to 10,000 rpm for back-working and rapid feeds reach 30 m/min.
