You Ji VHL

The vertical lathes in the VHL series feature a horizontal slide capable of reaching very large diameters for turning hard-to-reach surfaces. A short, robust cutting tool can be retained and, most importantly, there is no need to move the workpiece to another machine to complete the machining operation.

The vertical lathes used in aerospace and shipbuilding have become much more sophisticated, and the parts to be produced can vary in size from very small to very large.

It is therefore becoming necessary to use elongated tool holders that compromise machining precision. The horizontal slide on VHL series lathes eliminates this problem.

The slide has a maximum stroke of 350 mm. The VHL series machines are capable of drilling, tapping and reaming operations in addition to turning.

This ability to perform different types of machining offers advantages in terms of flexibility, efficiency and quality.

The You Ji VHL series brings together vertical lathes with a side head, a configuration designed for large aerospace components. The three models VHL1200, VHL1600 and VHL2000 share the same spindle speed of 2,400 rpm, but differ in capacity: turning length goes from 1,200 mm on the first two models to 1,600 mm on the VHL2000, while the maximum workpiece weight increases progressively from 5,000 kg on the VHL1200, to 8,000 kg on the VHL1600, up to 10,000 kg on the VHL2000. This scalability allows the right machine to be selected according to the size and weight of the component to be machined, while keeping the spindle rotation speed unchanged across the whole range. The side head of the VHL series makes these machines particularly suitable for machining large parts in the aerospace field, where precision and load capacity are key requirements.
