Economical heavy machining of large cylindrical and heavy workpieces: The state-of-the-art gantry-type turning and milling centres with double-column design are particularly suitable for the complete machining of workpieces up to approx. Ø 3,500 mm and machining lengths up to approx. 2,400 mm.

The VTR series is appreciated for its robust machine bed with solid construction and large flat rails. The proven Thermo-Friendly Concept guarantees high measuring accuracy – even in the case of variations in ambient temperature.

Automation by means of head exchange and pallet systems complete the wide range of system configurations, allowing a broad variety of workpieces to be machined.

The Okuma VTR series brings together large-capacity double-column vertical lathes with Turn-Mill technology, designed for multitasking machining of large-diameter parts. The range includes the VTR 160 and VTR 350 models, both equipped with a tool magazine holding 23 pockets, expandable to 35 or, as an option, up to 59 pockets, to handle complex jobs with frequent tool changes without interruption. Rapid feed rates of 20/20 m/min ensure efficient axis movement and contained cycle times even on large workpieces. With this combination of magazine capacity and axis dynamics, the VTR series stands as a reliable solution for those seeking operational continuity and flexibility when machining large-diameter components on a single double-column machine.
