EOS M 4 ONYX

The EOS M4 ONYX series is EOS's new large-format LPBF (Laser Powder Bed Fusion) system, unveiled at Formnext 2025 with availability announced for early 2026. It offers a 450 x 450 x 400 mm build volume and is built on a six-laser architecture using 400 W fiber lasers, with a spot of about 90 µm and scanning speeds of up to 7.0 m/s.

According to EOS, the six-laser configuration provides up to 50% higher productivity and a lower cost per part without compromising process stability. The system measures 5500 x 2370 x 2730 mm and weighs about 5700 kg, with a maximum power draw of 45 kW and a typical draw of 29 kW. At launch, titanium Ti64 and nickel alloy IN718 are validated, with further alloys planned.

Its large volume and high productivity make it suitable for the series production of metal components in sectors such as energy, defense, aeronautics, space and semiconductors.
