EOS M 400

The EOS M 400 series is the large-format DMLS (Direct Metal Laser Sintering) platform in the EOS range, with a 400 x 400 x 400 mm build volume. The M 400-4 model integrates four Yb-fiber lasers rated at 400 W each, with a spot of about 90 µm and scanning speeds of up to 7.0 m/s. Each laser exposes a 250 x 250 mm area with overlap, covering the full build plate and delivering up to four times the productivity of a single-laser system.

Layer thickness is adjustable between 20 and 80 µm depending on the material. Part properties remain equivalent to those of the M 290 platform, ensuring process continuity from development to production. The portfolio spans around 21 materials, including aluminium alloys, stainless steels, titanium, nickel alloys, maraging steel and case-hardening steel.

With its large volume and high throughput, the series targets the series production of medium-to-large metal components in sectors such as aerospace and automotive.
