Star SD

The sliding headstock lathes of the SD series feature the traditional characteristics of a Swiss-Type lathe, to which the possibility of machining with a sliding guide bush is added, all with STAR's state-of-the-art technology. In addition to simultaneous front/back turning, drilling, tapping and milling operations, drilling and milling can be carried out.

This series also has two B axes controlled by the CNC.

The Star SD-26 series brings together sliding-headstock (Swiss-type) automatic lathes for precision bar turning, available in the type S and type G/E/C versions. On the type S, the turning length is 260 mm with guide bush (GB) or 65 mm without guide bush (NGB); the model also features a switchable guide bush with retractable bushing (RMGB), which brings the turning length to 223.5 mm. The type G/E/C variant keeps the same 260 mm turning length with guide bush, and 260 mm/65 mm in the guide bush/no guide bush configuration (GB/NGB), thus offering the same bar-turning capacity with a different guide setup. The series therefore allows the most suitable configuration to be chosen for the job, while keeping the turning length capacity unchanged between versions.
