Star SB

The SB series of computer numerical control sliding headstock lathes integrate the traditional features of a Swiss-Type lathe with state-of-the-art STAR technology with the possibility of simultaneous double-sided drilling and tapping operations.

The SB series machine models are hybrid (can work with and without a guide bush).

Optionally, the machine can be configured so that machining on the main spindle is carried out with several motorised tool holders.

The Star SB series brings together sliding-headstock (Swiss-type) automatic lathes for the volume production of small turned parts, and includes the SB-12R type G, SB-20R type G and SB-20RII models. The turnable length ranges from 205 mm with bar guide (30 mm without bar guide) on the SB-12R type G to 205 mm with bar guide (50 mm without bar guide) on the SB-20R type G and SB-20RII, with switchable bar guide operation (G.B./N.G.B.) across the whole range. The tool post is a gang-plus-backwork type on the SB-12R type G and SB-20R type G, while the SB-20RII features a gang-type tool post. The SB-12R type G also lists a power consumption of 4.5 KVA. All models share the sliding-headstock design, differing in turnable capacity without bar guide and tool post configuration.
