The STAR SW sliding headstock lathe with computerized numerical control integrates the traditional features of a Swiss-Type lathe with STAR’s cutting-edge technology; this means that simultaneous double-sided turning, drilling, tapping and milling operations are possible.
The Star SW series brings together sliding-headstock (Swiss-type) automatic lathes for precision bar turning, available in different sizes to suit various production needs. The SW-12RII model offers a headstock working length of 135 mm with guide bush, reducible to 30 mm when working without guide bush, thanks to the switchable configuration with/without guide bush (G.B./N.G.B.) that allows quickly switching between working modes. The larger SW-20 model instead reaches a working length of 205 mm, keeping the same flexible philosophy with switchable guide bush. This setup makes the SW series suitable both for short-part production without guide bush and for longer bar machining, letting users choose the machine size best suited to their production mix.
