The ideal solution for the complete and intensive machining of small to large batches: the top-class turning and milling centres with moving column construction of the MULTUS U series are able to meet the most demanding requirements. Even simultaneous and synchronous machining is not a problem thanks to the counter spindle and the lower revolver tool holder, which can be integrated if required.

The large travels and powerful spindle drives are also suitable for complex applications up to 5-axis simultaneous machining. Remarkable high-speed functions guarantee time-efficient processes. The proven Collision Avoidance System is standard equipment in the MULTUS U series. The latest OSP control generation and the 19″ touch screen with panel ensure that the machine can be operated in the best possible way.

The Okuma MULTUS U series includes the Turn-Mill machines with B-axis milling head U1000, U2000, U3000, U4000 and U5000, designed for complete machining of complex parts in a single setup. The U1000 and U2000 models come with an 80-pocket tool magazine, already a generous capacity for combined turning and milling cycles. Moving up in size, the U3000, U4000 and U5000 models instead start from a base 40-pocket configuration, expandable according to application needs up to 80, 120 and 189 pockets for the U3000, and up to 180 pockets for the U4000 and U5000. This tool magazine modularity allows each machine in the series to be tailored to the automation level and tool variety required by the production cycle, while retaining the same Turn-Mill architecture with B-axis milling head across the whole range.
